WOODBRIDGE, ON – Consolidated Fastfrate says it’s investing nearly $20 million in a series of moves to grow as a major intermodal player in the industry.
Fastfrate announced that it will spend $10 million on a new facility in Edmonton, on top of a $1.5-million expansion of its Winnipeg facility. Another $5.5 million will be used to buy 238 intermodal chassis for its container transport operations.
“These are exciting times for our company,” announced Ron Tepper, Fastfrate CEO. “We believe in our future and continue to invest in our Canada-wide network of asset-based LTL road and rail services. But more than that, we are putting our considerable knowledge and experience into creating ‘thinking solutions’ geared to our customers’ more sophisticated transportation and distribution requirements.”
The facility investment in Winnipeg and Edmonton follows new Fastfrate facilities in Regina and Moncton. The company says to stay tuned for expansion into the U.S.
