RENTON, WA – More than 500 people joined PACCAR Parts in celebrating the grand opening of a new $32-million Distribution Center in Renton, Washington.
The 160,000 square-foot facility began operations this April, serving 92 dealerships in Western Canada and the Northwestern U.S. It is one of 17 such Distribution Centers worldwide, and can store 38,000 aftermarket parts for all makes of trucks, trailers and buses.
Features include hydraulic lift tables, a custom parcel conveyor and spiral conveyance, and environmentally friendly features including LED lighting and an energy management system.
“With a shipping accuracy of 99.98% and a regional order fulfillment rate for stocking items of 96%, the Renton [Parts Distribution Center] will continue to provide quality parts and service that is unmatched in the industry,” said Laura Bloch, assistant general manager – operations.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony included Renton Mayor Denis Law, PACCAR Chief Executive Officer Ron Armstrong, PACCAR vice president and PACCAR Parts general manager David Danforth, and PACCAR Parts general operations manager Tom Floyd.
“The historic event was a success and would not have been possible without the hard work and passion of those involved with the planning and execution,” said Danforth. “Being able to share such a monumental achievement as a division is what made the occasion so special.”
