DENTON, TX – Peterbilt’s Technician Institute (PTI) has graduated more than 200 service technicians and expanded to three campuses since the program first launched in July 2014.
During the two years since the start of PTI, the program has grown from its original location in Dallas to new campuses in Lisle, Ill. and Exton, Penn. The company said it will continue to add strategically located campuses in the future. The most recent graduating class – trained at PTI’s Dallas location – raised the total to 208 service technicians who have successfully completed the program. It is the 21st class of graduates since PTI’s first graduation on July 25, 2014.
“The Peterbilt Technician Institute has been a resounding success for Peterbilt and its dealer network, as well as a career launch for highly skilled and trained service technicians,” said Darrin Siver, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice president. “In turn, our customers receive an excellent service experience, which leads to the highest levels of customer satisfaction from our dealer network.”
PTI’s program has also expanded its scope to include training for fleet customers’ service technicians, Peterbilt Motors Company recently announced.
PTI is a 12-week program that features exclusive classroom and hands-on instruction of total vehicle and engine diagnostics, maintenance and repairs. It also covers essential workplace topics such as customer service, dealership shop operations and laws and regulations.
