There are people who just plain shouldn’t die. Ever. Bill MacKinnon was one of those guys, a pillar in our industry with a trucking history that goes back to the 1920s. But die he did on March 22, at home in Guelph, Ontario, after a long illness. He was 90 years old.
GUELPH, ON – Size and human resources issues were behind the recent sale of MacKinnon Transport to Contrans Group, that took just 24 days from handshake to final close.
Former president and CEO of MacKinnon Transport, Evan MacKinnon, says the company was doing well, but couldn’t overcome some of the challenges associated with their size, forcing them to choose to grow, or sell the family business.
GUELPH, ON – After entering into Notice of Intent last December, MacKinnon successfully restructures and exits credit protection environment.
TORONTO — On the strength of 2.6 million collision-free kilometres, Jim Coles was named the 2009 Ontario Trucking Association – Volvo Trucks Canada Driver of The Year.
