LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Navistar International has expanded its line of HV vocational trucks, and introduced additional warranty coverage for it’s A26 engine.
The company introduced at World of Concrete new HV507 and HV607 models. The trucks feature a shorter 107-inch BBC configuration. The HV507 comes with a set-forward axle, while the 607 is a set-back axle configuration. The trucks are six inches shorter than the original HV launched at the North American Commercial Vehicle Show in Atlanta last fall.
ATLANTA, GA — International has unveiled its new HV Series of trucks at the North American Commercial Vehicle Show, with several features designed to withstand the abuse of rugged vocational environments.
The new T880S from Kenworth made its debut in March 2017, and already it’s getting more order activity than the trucks it will eventually replace. To see what all the excitement is about, Equipment editor Jim Park took a couple different T880s for a spin.
Peterbilt vocational trucks can now be spec’d with the new PACCAR 20,000- and 22,000-pound wide track steer axles designed for applications such as refuse, construction and heavy-haul.
PHOENIX, AZ — Western Star has introduced a new member in its line of XD OffRoad trucks, the XD-25. It’s a 25-ton hauler aimed at smaller off-road applications, such as construction, mining, and quarry site hauling. Despite its size and bulk, it can manage on-the-road speeds up to 65 mph or 105 km/h, so in some cases it can be treated as an on/off-road machine.
While it looks something like a 4900, much more steel is involved in its construction. It’s by no means a converted highway truck.
The XD-25 presently comes with a 14-liter Detroit Series 60 Tier 3 engine mated to Allison Off Road Series transmissions and planetary gear sets. The motor will be replaced by year-end with a Detroit DD13.
