The 17 Best Worst Roads in Canada

Posted: August 1, 2014

THORNHILL, ON — Every province has one; it’s that road that always seems to have gaping potholes, large bumps or massive puddles. The Canadian Automotive Association (CAA) is currently seeking to “honor” the worst roads across Canada.

In an effort to raise awareness about poor road conditions, people in British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Atlantic Canada can cast their votes about the best of the worst until May 31. In Saskatchewan the voting has already ended.

Below is a list of the current top three worst roads in each region:

British Columbia:

  1. BC Parkway in Vancouver
  2. Westside Road near Kelowna
  3. Vernon Slocan Highway near Vernon

Saskatchewan:

  1. Highway 123 near Cumberland House
  2. Highway 42 near Dinsmore
  3. Highway 908 near Île-à-la-Crosse

Manitoba:

  1. Victoria Avenue in Brandon
  2. Saint James Street in Winnipeg
  3. 1st Street in Winkler

Ontario:

  1. Dufferin Street in Toronto tied with Kraft Creek Roads in Timmins
  2. Burlington Street East in Hamilton
  3. Finch Avenue West in Toronto

Atlantic Canada:

  1. Cape John Road in River John, NS
  2. Foxbrook Road in Hopewell, NS
  3. Forties Road in New Ross, NS tied with Ridge Road near Digby, NS
