KLEINBURG, Ont. – Ringing in their first year at their Kleinburg, Ont. location, partners TRP and Total Canada wanted to give back to the community they’ve become a part of.
The first official day of summer provided good weather for the barbeque celebration featuring food, prizes, and guest appearances by Caledon, Ont. Mayor Allan Thompson and president of Total Canada Franck Bagouet.

Thompson, Bagouet, and TRP owner Vince Tarola presented a check for $5,000 to Volunteer MBC, a group that helps connect volunteers in Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon to causes in need of an extra set of hands.
“I think it’s important to give back to the community you do business in,” said Tarola. “Every little bit helps.”
Tarola and Bagouet also took the time to show off a North American first – the Total Rubia rapid oil change center.
With a large bay that can hold two trucks at a time, drivers pull in for a brief 15-minute pit stop and wait in-cab during the oil change.
Local drivers are always welcome, but those just passing through are the target audience for Tarola, who says the center’s design is perfect for those looking for a quick change on the road.
While the location is a first for this part of the world, Bagouet says the model has had great success in South America, Europe, and Asia.
“It’s a huge concept. Time is money.”
To help fleets and drivers maximize uptime Total Canada has plans for 50 more rapid oil change locations in North America, starting in Alberta, with another two planned for the Greater Toronto Area.
Keeping connected to the country and the communities it does business in, 95% of all oil products Total sells in Canada are made by Canadians at a blending plant in Montreal.
The company has also begun a sponsorship in recent weeks with the Canadian Football League and will have a prominent spot on the field during the Grey Cup.

The rapid oil change center is part of the larger TRP location with a full parts and service center, partnered with Total Canada to sell their oil products exclusively.
The service center features a driver’s lounge with wide-screen TV, and six bays for those that need more than just new oil and a quick once-over.
Thompson says the community welcomed the new location with open arms and continues to embrace its presence.
Thompson says he’s glad to see the growth of the tax base in the area, but it’s about more than just new employment opportunities.
“It’s about securing our community,” he said. “We’re so grateful… for good socially responsible companies.”
